Job Overview Progress Fabrication For Steel Construction Co. LLC is seeking 26 Structural Steel Welders (SMAW/FCAW) to support high-profile construction and steel fabrication projects across the UAE. This is a full-time, mid-level** opportunity for qualified welding professionals with proven experience in structural steelwork and certified welding positions. The role requires consistent delivery of high-quality welds in alignment with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and UAE site safety standards. The candidate will work closely with supervisors, inspectors, and fabrication teams to meet production targets while maintaining strict quality and safety compliance. Key Responsibilities - Perform **SMAW and FCAW welding** on structural steel components in workshop and/or site environments as assigned. - Execute welding in **3G and 4G positions** in accordance with approved **WPS/PQR** and project drawings. - Interpret and work from **fabrication drawings, isometrics, and weld symbols** to complete assigned weld joints accurately. - Prepare materials prior to welding (fit-up, alignment, beveling, cleaning, tack welding) to ensure proper joint configuration. - Conduct visual checks on completed welds and support **QC/inspection requirements** (e.g., visual inspection and NDT readiness where applicable). - Maintain welding equipment and tools; report defects and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime. - Follow site and workshop **HSE procedures**, including proper use of PPE, safe handling of cylinders, and fire prevention protocols. - Coordinate with fitters, riggers, and supervisors to meet production schedules and ensure correct assembly sequence. - Maintain orderly work areas and contribute to housekeeping standards in compliance with site rules. - Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and skill assessments as required by the project or client. Requirements - Proven experience as a **Structural Steel Welder (SMAW/FCAW)** within construction or steel fabrication environments. - **Qualified/certified in 3G and 4G welding positions** with demonstrated structural steelwork capability (testing may be required). - Strong ability to read and interpret **technical drawings and welding symbols**. - Knowledge of welding consumables, polarity settings, preheat requirements (where applicable), and welding parameters for structural applications. - Commitment to **quality workmanship**, including dimensional accuracy, weld appearance, and adherence to inspection standards. - Working knowledge of safe work practices, including hot work controls and safe equipment operation. - Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors and inspectors. - Readiness to work **standard working hours** as per UAE practice and project needs.
